一. Definition

Electric skateboard is a personal transporter based on a skateboard. The speed is usually controlled by a wireless hand-held throttle remote or rider body weight-shifting between front of the board for forward motion and rear for braking. As for the direction of travel to the right or left, it is adjusted by tilting the board to one side or the other. The classification of electric skateboards (e.g. whether they qualify as a 'vehicle') and legality of their use on roads or pavements varies between countries.

二. Composition:

1. Motor

a. Wheel Hub Motor

In the wheel hub motor, the tire skin is fixed on the motor shell, and then the motor is fixed on the skateboard truck, so that it has the function of driving the wheel. Wheel hub motors for electric skateboards are an emerging category, and are very popular among brand boards because of their simplicity, stability, and easy maintenance.

b. Out-runner Motor

The Out-runner motor is to fix the motor on the skateboard truck with a bracket, and drive the rotation of the wheel through the transmission of the belt or the iron chain and the large and small synchronous wheels. Because of the transmission efficiency of the synchronous wheel, the power is abundant, the power is strong, and the torque far exceeds that of the hub. By changing the gear ratio, it can have a very free speed and power ratio. But at the same time, it has the disadvantages of high failure rate (broken belt, loose components) and difficult maintenance. It is suitable for old players with hands-on ability. It is currently the mainstream of electric skating.

c. Direct Drive Motor

This Motor is placed between the wheels and the trucks and connected directly to the wheels. In essence, it is similar to the hub motor, but it adopts the structure of directly fixing the tire, so there is more space to use a larger motor.

2. Board Deck

Because of the need to meet the needs of high-speed driving, most electric skateboards use longboards or downhill boards, and larger boards are more suitable for adding various components. The materials range from laminated maple wood and bamboo wood of traditional skateboards to emerging materials such as carbon fiber and aluminum plates. In the early days, for the purpose of convenience or shock absorption, one (or two) boxes were mostly hung on the traditional board surface to hold the rest of the components. With the maturity of technology and production, the integrated board surface (built-in components) was gradually replaced Everyone accepts.

3. Truck

Trucks are important and extremely durable parts that are mounted under the surface of the electric skateboard. Trucks are part of a T-shaped metal body under the two ends of the skateboard. As a component connecting the deck and the wheel, the truck plays an important role in controlling steering, shock absorption, and stability. Because the main direction of electric skating is to adapt to relatively high-speed driving, stable and flexible longboard trucks and downhill trucks have become popular choices.

4. Wheel

The wheels of electric skateboards are mainly all kinds of large street brush wheels (pu wheels), downhill wheels, etc. With the development of electric skating as a new branch of gameplay, wheels adapted to various terrain requirements have also been gradually developed, such as rubber wheels, inflatable at-wheels, etc.

5. Controller and Remote

The controller is a circuit board that provides various functions. Each manufacturer and player will adjust these mature controllers according to their own needs to form their own characteristics. The remote control is the signal input part of the controller, which is used to issue commands.

6. Battery

The battery is the power source of the electric slide, which is generally composed of a battery cell and a protective plate. A good battery can ensure that the skateboard has enough battery life and sufficient power, but relatively, the size and weight of the battery have become a major bottleneck for the development of electric skateboards.

7. Other Accessories

According to different needs, there are many extension directions for electric skating, and there are also many different accessories, such as foot tops and foot straps that fix the foot position when pursuing stability; various types of headlights and taillights that pursue handsome effects and night lighting warnings; There are many kinds of shock suspension and bridge pad sandpaper, etc., and you can naturally understand them slowly after playing deeply.
